Research Fellow: Sana Danish

Sana Chaudhry is working as a research fellow at the Islamabad office of the South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI). Her primary interest is focused on nuclear related issues and strategic stability debate in South Asia. At SASSI, she is working on Counter Proliferation and is writing a paper on the likely impact of post-9/11 US Counter Proliferation initiatives on Pakistan. Her area of interest also entails Chinese export controls and the nature of security and stability in South Asian region, with particular reference to Pakistan. In future she is interested in analyzing the approach of Obama administration in dealing with the proliferation and nuclear related safety and security issues. She completed her Master’s degree in Defence and Diplomatic Studies from Fatima Jinnah Women University, Rawalpindi, in 2008. Her dissertation was on ‘Counter Proliferation Strategies Post-9/11: Implications for Pakistan’. She secured second position and was awarded silver medal for an all-round achievement. She represented her university on a number of occasions and participated in LUMUN ’06, University Students’ Project organized by the British Council. She has attended a number of seminars and has been a part of workshop on ‘Conflict Resolution’ arranged by British Council. She has formerly been attached with Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) as an intern in 2007 and got an article published in English dailies that can be viewed on the links given below. She has also been a part of inter-cultural dialogue with a British Muslim delegation to Pakistan in 2008. She has been associated with a multinational company sent to Pakistan by Adidas to audit their suppliers in Pakistan for a couple of months in 2006. In 2005, she joined The City School as teacher. She also carried out community work for 20 credit hours for the betterment of Pakistani society.
