Junior Research Fellow: Salma ShaheenSalma Shaheen is currently working as junior researcher at SASSI. She has also worked as Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of DSS, and has also worked with Dr. Zafar Iqbal Cheema, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University on his project entitled as "Indian Nuclear Deterrence" from 2006-2007. Her part of job in that project was mainly data collection, editing and analysis of Indian military capability and Indian nuclear forces. She has also served as a visiting faculty at Fatima Jinnah University for Women, Rawalpindi during spring session of 2007. She holds a B.A. in statistics and economics from Punjab Univeristy, Lahore in 2002. She has earned a M.Sc. in Defense and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University in 2005. In M.Sc. her majors were Strategic Dynamics of Middle East and Central Asia, and her seminar paper was on "Information Technology and State Security – Intelligence Perspective". She has recently completed her Masters in Philosophy from Department of Defense and Strategic Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan in 2008. In her M.Phil thesis, she has conducted research with the title, "Strategic Culture of Military Industrial Complexes (MICs) and Arms Control". Areas of interest are theories related to strategic issues, strategic culture, and nuclear nonproliferation issues.
