Research Fellow: Ghazala NayyarGhazala Nayyar after attaining her masters degree from QAU joined one of the leading research institute of Pakistan i.e. South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI). During her academic career, she did research work ok Balochistan crisis, Pakistan’s foreign policy during cold war era till date. She is remained also an active member of Youth Advocacy Network (YAN) working under the forum of World Population Foundation (WPF).
She is good at communicating foreign languages with greater command on German and French. She is a regular member of visitor’s community on cultural programs promoted by German Embassy.
Her area of interest in SASSI is to work on strategic dynamics of South Asia impacting the contemporary global politics. Apart from it, she wrote extensively on current International policies impacting South Asia in general and Pakistan in particular. She did research work on ‘China’s Export Control System and the Role of MOFCOM (Ministry of Commerce).’ Her work focused on ‘Kerry-Lugar Bill and its lmplications for Pakistan’, ‘Pakistan- France strategic relations in past and future’ and wrote several articles on; Obama’s Step toward Ratification of CTBT and Its Implications for Pakistan, deterrence, national security of Pakistan, the role of external forces in generating extremism in Pakistan.
As far as working in SASSI is concerned, she believes that in the contemporary politics the case study of Pakistan has been in the spotlight in the post-9/11 scenario. She believes that the political history has sown the seeds for Pakistan’s strides in the right direction and improving its image in the West. She finds herself playing a little role in the national endeavors in this direction.
She is passionate to work on policy-oriented research discourses about South Asian security. She believes SASSI will provide an innovative platform for the youngsters to bring brainwaves to the debate on South Asian security. She believes that through this institution, think tanks and academicians can share their objectives across the world.
